About Me

You’ve experienced the loss of a child and you’re feeling stuck.

It’s been hard for you to make sense of this loss and find the drive to keep going. You’re looking for a therapist who gets it to help you make sense of this loss and feel hope for your future.

You believed life would turn out how you envisioned; that eventually, you’d have kids at home. You knew your life wouldn’t always go smoothly, but you honestly believed that in the end things would be okay.

When you look at your life today, you feel blindsided. Nothing is okay. You’re struggling to make sense of life since losing a child. On your worst days, you can’t imagine how you can keep going. You just want to feel normal again yet feel guilty for even thinking that.

I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. You’re right. Your life may never be the same again but that doesn’t mean you have to suffer for the rest of it. You can find ways to face the world again while remembering your baby.

At Evolve Counseling, LLC there is one thing I know for sure is that it is possible to heal after infant or pregnancy loss.

Sometimes after such a devastating loss, it will feel like life will never be the same again. Honestly, it might not.

When this happens you start to lose hope and feel lost. You realize you will never be the same.

That doesn’t mean you can’t find a new normal.

It means you need to evolve into a new version of you and find who you are since the loss of your baby. You need to find ways to live with the pain while still having hope for your future.

I know this sounds impossible.

The truth is that healing from child loss is really hard. It’s really messy. And it’s normal to feel hopeless. Even though you can’t imagine ever feeling better, you can feel joy again while still being sad about the baby you’ve lost.

That’s where I come in:

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Addictions Counselor, AND fellow bereaved mother, I help you find hope again.

At Evolve Counseling, LLC I help grieving mothers go from feeling like they’re living in hell to feeling like they can face the world again.

My mission is to provide a healing environment for grieving mothers so they can integrate the loss of their baby(ies) into their lives and process stuck points so they can find a new normal where they don’t feel guilty for experiencing joy again.

I am passionate about helping grieving mothers find ways to continue loving and honoring their child(ren) even though they are no longer here.

Evolve Counseling, LLC is the place for grieving mother’s to find hope again.

Perhaps you’ve questioned if life is worth living yet you don’t want to give up. You’ve tried talking to friends and family but it hasn’t helped you feel any better. You’re looking for ways to pick up the pieces but you can’t figure out where to start.

When you schedule a session with Evolve Counseling, LLC you will start to see that finding hope after the loss of a child is possible.

My Why:

You already know that I’m a therapist, but what you might not know is that I am also on the child loss journey.  Six years into my career as a therapist, I found myself living my worst nightmare.  My world came crashing down around me when my first child was stillborn due to a genetic condition.  After I walked my own healing journey, I became passionate about helping others who have found they are living their worst nightmare.

I get it.  I know what it’s like to pick up the pieces and to deeply question whether there are even any pieces to pick up.

As you’re reading this, you may be thinking it’s impossible to heal and who could blame you-this sucks.

I am passionate about and dedicated to helping my clients figure out what healing means for them.  It’s different for everyone, which makes sense because no two experiences are the same.  What I do know is that it feels supportive to sit with others who truly get it.

How We Work Together:

Some experiences are so painful that it shatters our world and life as we knew it ceases to exist.   We find it difficult to connect to people and the world around us.

We think nothing will ever be the same, that might be true.  Some things happen that forever change us.  But we can learn to live a new life and continue moving forward.  We can heal. Our life can evolve. It is possible to heal, find balance, and create the life that you want and deserve.

I help my clients navigate the unknown and find joy again after their life is turned upside down by child loss.

This can be more complicated then it sounds, if you’re reading this you’ve probably already realized this.  Life after devasting loss and traumatic experiences is filled with an array of conflicting emotions.

My clients develop ways to hold all of these mixed so they can pick up the pieces.

Counseling is a partnership and a relationship.  Our work together will begin by developing a relationship by getting to know and trust one another.  I will start by getting a sense of your life, your loss story, and what your goals are for therapy.  I encourage the people I work with to be open about what’s helpful or not helpful. It won’t hurt my feelings!  I am here to help you and support you.  That is my main goal.  That being said, counseling can be tough. Sometimes my job is also to challenge you, which can be uncomfortable.  Just know that I am here to help you heal and met your goals.

My approach to life and counseling is down-to-earth, compassionate, and real.  I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk and can help you navigate all the crap that life has thrown at you.

As for the boring stuff- I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor.  Additionally, I use a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, panic control treatment, and EMDR.

I have worked in a variety of settings over the years ranging from residential treatment centers, community mental health settings, and now in private practice.  I work with teenagers, adolescents, and couples.

Additionally, I write for Still Standing Magazine and enjoy connecting with the child loss community in many aspects of my life. You can check out my articles for Still Standing here
